An essential star of the Latin American scene, Lila Downs, multi–Grammy Award winner, anthropologist, composer, and one of the most influential artists in Latin American music will return to tour with a new album in 2026, “Cambias Mi Mundo.”

No introduction is needed for Lila Downs, a leading figure in Latin American music. Originally from Oaxaca and raised between Mexico and the United States, she weaves a unique musical world where Mexican traditions meet jazz, cumbia, folk, and contemporary sounds. Her music is both a celebration of roots and an act of commitment. Endowed with one of the most distinctive voices of her generation, she is renowned for the intensity and charisma of her live performances.

Lila Downs’ new album, “Cambias mi Mundo” (“You Change My World”), marks a bold return to the very essence of her art: a deep commitment to today’s major causes, carried by music that is at once passionate, intimate, and festive. It is her first album composed almost entirely of original songs, with the exception of a love song symbolizing the bond between Mexico and Portugal. Musically, this record stands out as one of her most acoustic and personal projects to date, revealing an artist closely connected to her sensitivity and her roots.

Her compositions move freely across genres like folk, pop, cumbia, jazz standards, hip-hop, rancheras, and Mexican corridos, it explores powerful themes such as social justice, immigration, and the conditioning of women. A major artist whose work combines artistic power with a strong universal message.

On socials, she has more than 270 million streams. Albums such as Pecados y Milagros, Raíz, and Balas y Chocolate each exceed tens of millions of streams, with a steady flow of new daily listeners.

Lila Downs’ reputation continues to grow among a diverse audience—families as well as highly engaged listeners. With recognized artistic statements and aesthetics, she can bring strong added value to a program (visual magic, culture, commitment) and already benefits from solid promotional support, with media regularly covering her, this great lady of Latin music draws a broad audience.

A passionate human-rights activist, Lila Downs’ lyrics often focus on stories ranging from social injustice to suppressed Latin American histories, especially those of Indigenous and working-class women. She has written narratives of Indigenous resistance, protecting the original vision of sacred plants and the foods of her Oaxacan culture while preserving the traditions of the American continent.

Lila Downs has recorded duets with artists as diverse as Mercedes Sosa, Caetano Veloso, Juanes, Norah Jones, Juan Gabriel, Santana, The Chieftains, Diego El Cigala, Celso Piña, and Toto la Momposina. Chavela Vargas “named” Lila her “successor.”

Lila has graced the stages of many of the world’s most prestigious festivals and venues, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Konzerthaus Vienna, Noches del Botánico (Madrid), and Cankarjev Dom (Ljubljana). She was invited by Barack Obama to sing at the White House, and performed at the Oscars for her involvement in the film Frida.
